The AIDS Vaccine Research Laboratory headed by Dr. David Watkins, professor of pathology, opened its doors on September 16, 2005. The AVRL is housed in a newly rennovated building and is made up of several different cores. Each core is designed to facilitate new discoveries in the search for an AIDS vaccine.
