Over the last five years Dr. David Watkins has created a non-human primate facility with outstanding immunology, immunogenetics, and virology expertise designed to monitor vaccine trials in rhesus macaques. The AIDS Vaccine Research Laboratory consists of four cores which support these efforts: The Immunology core is head by Dr. Eva Rakasz, the Protein core is headed by Dr. Nancy Wilson, the Molecular core by Richard Rudersdorf and the Virology core by Dr. Thomas Friedrich.
